Uprising - E3C

Our design Uprising represents our current journey within the legal Cannabis industry of NZ.

We started a movement that wanted to bring valuable Interllectual Property around Cannabis to build a grassroots company that could enter this industry and also to have educated conversations with the powers that be around what it would look like to shape a model that can work for all.

The current Medicinal Cannabis industry in NZ is failing to help get product to those in this country who wish to self medicate

Legal loopholes allow foreign companies to export average quality dry flower into NZ at premium prices while Patients unbeknowingly become Cash Cows to a system run by opportunists and its worse than the current black market

Rules and Regulations were created without understanding the plant first or its interaction with our individual endocannibinoid systems.

With the specs being at such a high level, it is easier for most NZ companies to contract other countries to grow and export products instead of trying to serve the local market

Different interpretation of consumer use is now segregated with the terms medicinal and recreational by those who seek to control who has access to this plant without persecution

The fuckery of an industry that was created in NZ but doesn't cater for all New Zealanders.

So what does this all have to do with our design?

We see that it's time for all of us to rise up and fight for change in regulations. We all have the IP to mould what this industry needs right now.

As companies downscale due to uncertainty it is time for others to rise

There is a whakatauki or Maori proverb that says

Mate kainga tahi, Ora kainga rua

One house rests and another is born

Let the old energy that has hindered this industry leave with the setting of the sun as it serves us no purpose

We will start the new day with the energy of the rising sun to empower us all.
